Description

Number 68, London Road is an early 19th-century building, possibly originating as a 17th-century outbuilding to number 66, with a raised roof and conversion in the 19th century. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, featuring a low-pitched slate roof with overhanging eaves, and a hipped form to the north. The building includes a large internal stack positioned one-third from the north end, and a further internal gable stack on the south side. There are three windows, arranged across two storeys. The windows are flush box sashes with architraves, containing 6/6 panes. On the ground floor, the south window has been replaced with a Victorian 2/2 sash. A four-panel flush door is positioned opposite the chimney, and is set within a heavy frame and architrave, topped with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets.
