Description

This is a large, two-storey timber-framed house, likely dating from the 17th century or earlier, that has been subdivided. An 18th-century extension with a hipped roof was added to the south side. The roof is steep and covered with old red tile gables. The building is painted weatherboarding, and features a modillioned eaves cornice that stops short of the south extension. The interior layout consists of three rooms arranged in a line, with a large chimney positioned between the southern rooms. The middle room is said to contain an axial beam and a fire lintol, both inscribed with the date 1724. Number 62, on the south side, has one sash window on each floor. These are flush box sashes with architraves and 8/8 glazing panes. It also has a four-panel door with a moulded architrave and a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. Number 66 has two sash windows on each floor and a central door, with details matching those of Number 62. However, the north ground floor and upper south windows of Number 66 contain Victorian 2/2 sash windows.
