Description

Dane O'Coys is an early 16th-century house situated on Dane O'Coys Road. Originally a timber-frame building, it now has modern pargetting on a brick base. The roof is steeply pitched with old tiles and features a central brick stack. The house is two storeys high with four windows facing the lane. The symmetrical east front includes a projecting tiled porch with steps leading to the door on the south side. Modern casement windows are found on both sides, along with two gabled dormers. The interior retains extensive exposed timber framing on both floors, including heavy beams and a large cambered ceiling beam within the south wall. A Tudor brick fireplace with a heavy oak beam is located in the north ground floor room. An old flint and brick garden wall is attached to the south-east corner of the house. A 19th-century cowhouse with modern pargetting and a red tile roof stands to the north, beyond which are weatherboarded stables.
