Barn. Late C16. 8 bays, aisled, lying N-S with double doors in W side in 2nd and 6th bays from S. High red brick plinth with spur plinths running across aisles to support plates carrying arcade posts. Timber frame weatherboarded. Very steep gabled roof now covered in corrugated iron. Roof raised at eaves over double doors. Heavy square, swept jowled, arcade posts with long slender curved braces to arcade plate and tie beam. Aisle tie beam with short brace from jowled wall post. Unusual curved member rising from aisle-tie to back of arcade-post carrying aisle purlin in notch on its back. Arcade-plate jointed with face-halved and bladed scarf joint over each post. Thin members in steep clasped purlin roof with collar and angled queen struts. Part of a courtyard group.
