Description
Parkers Green Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century. It has a timber frame that is roughcast and features a steep thatched roof. The cottage is a small, two-cell structure with one and a half storeys and a central chimney, facing north. The entrance is now located in a tiled single-storey extension at the northeast corner. Inside, there is a single fireplace in the eastern room, which has a chamfered axial beam and exposed square joists. A dog leg stair is situated in the northwest corner of the unheated western room, also featuring a chamfered axial beam. The roof is a clasped-purlin type with a moulded chin to jowled posts and straight tension-bracing. The northern front of the cottage has two windows with small panes, and the northeast extension has double doors, each with three flush beaded panels.
