Description
No 6 Roydon Road is a house dating from the 18th century, which was refronted in the early 19th century. It has a rear extension and brick end walls that were added in the late 19th century. The building may have originally been timber-framed but is now covered in red brick. It features a steep hipped roof that is currently covered in corrugated red tiles, with a slated catslide continuation over the rear part. There is a central chimney with four flues.
The house is symmetrical, standing two stories tall with a two-window early 19th-century front made of red brick. This front includes irregular black headers and rubbed brick flat arches above the windows. The windows are flush box sashes with vertical margin lights. The entrance features a four-panel flush-beaded door, surrounded by a panelled surround with corner blocks that have circular sinkings, topped with a moulded flat hood supported by shaped paired brackets.
