Description
Coates Manor Farm is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 17th century and underwent extensive renovations in the 19th century. The building features a timber frame set on a red brick plinth, with the front made of painted brick, roughcast walls, and a steeply pitched roof that is now covered with slate. The house is long, with two storeys and attics, and faces east. It has a large red brick chimney at the southern part, which may indicate that this end is an extension, as well as a rear lateral chimney on the northern part. There is a lean-to structure at the northern end. The east front has four windows, two gables, and two canted bay windows on the ground floor, with a door situated between them. The front door is made of oak planks and features a moulded surround, a blank overdoor, shaped brackets, and a flat hood. At the rear, there is a half-glazed panelled door in a moulded frame, also with a moulded flat hood supported by shaped brackets, and a canted bay window to the right of this rear door.
