Description

Wareside Lodge is a former gate lodge to Blakesware, now functioning as a house. It features a carved inscription reading 'A 1897 D' on the bressumer of the west gable, indicating its construction date. The building has a half-timbered upper floor with roughcast infill, a red brick ground floor in English bond, and a red tiled roof. It is L-shaped, with gabled ends facing the road to the south and the drive to the west. An arched wooden porch with a flat top shelters the door located in the angle of the wings. The ground floor has four-light casement leaded windows, complete with transoms and segmental gauged arches. The south side includes a canted oriel and an overhanging upper gable adorned with projected bargeboards.
