Description

High Cross Puller Memorial Church of England Primary School is a school built in 1866, located 100 meters north of the church. It was constructed for the Puller family of Youngsbury in memory of C. W. Giles-Puller MP. The building is made of red brick with polychrome banding and arches, featuring steep red tile roofs that are banded with scalloped tiles. The school has a tall single-storey T-shaped Gothic design facing west, with a higher main range that includes toothed eaves and verge courses.

There are four high three-light sash windows with buttresses between them, and a large central projecting chimney stack that has a square limestone tablet. This tablet displays the relief lettering "IN MEMORIAM W M GILES PULLER" along with a crest, and there is a steeply roofed pyramid timber bellcote on the ridge near the south end. The west gable of the lower crosswing on the north side features a large four-light traceried pointed window, while the gablet of the main roof has a trefoil cusped vent.

At the south end, there is a low pitched-roof buttressed porch or narthex, which has a high gable window above. This window is made of paired voussoirs with alternating grey chamfered bricks and square-cornered black bricks. The porch also has a pointed doorway and windows, along with wrought iron gable finials. A 20th-century extension at the rear is not of special interest.
