Description
Holly Tree Cottage and Path Cottage is a house that dates back to the 17th century or earlier. It is a long, two-storey, timber-framed structure that has been subdivided and is positioned at right angles to the road, facing south, with a cross wing at the east end. The walls are rough plastered, featuring a traditional weatherboarded apron up to the ground floor windows. The house has a steep-pitched gabled roof that is now covered with slate. A large red brick central chimney is located near the middle of the long range, while a yellow stock brick central chimney is found at the junction with the cross wing. An internal yellow stock brick gable stack is present on the west end, indicating that this end may be an extension. The windows are two-light wooden casements with small panes. This building is part of a group of structures on the east side of the road.
