Description

House. Dating from the 18th century or earlier, this is a timber-frame building, roughly plastered, with a steep hipped roof covered in old red tiles. The house follows a double-pile plan, typical of farmhouses, and presents an irregular three-window facade to the north, facing the lane. A six-panel front door is situated off-centre towards the east, sheltered by a flat hood supported on brackets. The north front features flush box sash windows with moulded architraves; the three first-floor windows have 6/6 panes, while the ground-floor windows have 8/8 panes. On the east elevation, a central red brick chimney is visible, alongside two widely spaced sash windows with 6/6 panes. One ground-floor window on the right-hand side has been replaced with French doors. A chimney is also present on the west gable. The house forms a picturesque group with the adjacent stables to the west.
