Description

The gazebo, dating to approximately 1830-40 and restored in the early 1990s, is located in the grounds of Rockall (Rockall not included). Designed by Thomas Smith, it is timber-framed and clad in timber, with a pantiled roof. The design is in the Gothick style. The exterior is single-storey and features diagonally set boarding between exposed studs. It has cast-iron lancet windows with margin lights and lattice pattern centres. The interior was not inspected during the listing process. Originally, the gazebo was situated within the garden of No. 2 North Road, which Smith had designed as his own home. The gazebo now stands within the grounds of a modern house, created by the subdivision of the earlier garden.
