Description
The gazebo, located about 150 metres south west of the Manor House, dates from around 1780 and is built of sandstone rubble, which was formerly rendered, with some brick repair work. The roof is currently missing. Designed in the Gothick style, this small single-storey square building features a pointed arched central entrance flanked by blind pointed arched lights, which include trompe l'oeil Gothick glazing bars. Above the door is a blind oval, and there are cross loops on each side. The remaining three sides also have pointed arched openings and cross loops similar to the front. Inside, there is a flue in the corner and some plain plaster moulding remains around the window openings. At the time of the survey in March 1985, the gazebo was very overgrown with ivy.
