Description

This barn, dating from the 17th century, is located about 35 meters southwest of Roxford House in Hertingfordbury. It features an early red brick lower level with an upper timber frame that is weatherboarded, topped by a tiled roof. The structure consists of four bays and includes a gabled midstrey facing the yard in the second bay from the end nearest the house, which has large double doors. To the right, there is a brick lean-to outshut, and an inserted attic window is found in the right end. Inside, the barn has braces extending from jowled posts to tie beams, angled struts to the principals, and double butt purlins.
