Description
Dane Bridge House is a house from the mid-17th century and earlier, constructed with a timber frame. It was remodeled in the earlier and late 19th century. The exterior features red brick and an old red tile roof, with two storeys and attics. The building has twin gable-ended ranges with prominent end chimneystacks. The symmetrical south front includes a modern classical doorcase, flanked by ground floor canted sash window bays with margin lights. On the upper floor, there are segmental-headed sash windows with margin lights. The west side has a modern canted window bay with similar windows. Gable corbels support over-sailing courses. The east elevation features a first-floor, bracketed, square sash oriel, flanked by small pane casements. Inside, there are mid-17th century floor beams that are chamfered with moulded stops, and an older timber frame bay is present in the rear block. There is also a modern single-storey extension on the east side.
