Description
This barn, located east of the house at Hadham Grange in Much Hadham village, dates from the 17th or 18th century. It is timber-framed and consists of seven bays, featuring weatherboarding and plaster over a red brick base, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn is oriented north-south and has a later timber-framed and weatherboarded cart entrance in the center of the west side. The structure includes pegged framing with a clasped purlin roof and curved braces, although much of the wood has been renewed. The upper halves of the walls are finished with lath and plaster. This barn is included for its group value with the surrounding buildings.
