Description

This is a farm building located at Home Farm, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of plum brick and features a steep old red tile hipped roof. The building is two storeys high and has a large rectangular shape, facing south. The symmetrical front consists of five wide bays and two narrow end bays, which are defined by pilasters with chamfered bases. The eaves are bold, dentilled, and chamfered. The ground floor has heavy timber lintels above openings suitable for carts or implements in the wider bays, while the end bays have round arched openings. There is a central door to the upper floor that has been converted into a window, and each of the other wider bays features a segmental arched square window. Access to the upper floor, which may have served as a granary, is provided by a wide staircase located in the left-hand narrow end bay. Additionally, there is a large window on the upper floor at the eastern end.
