Description
Norton Cottage is a house dating from the 16th or early 17th century. It is one and a half storeys tall, long, and timber-framed, with a plastered exterior facing east. The roof is thatched, hipped at the north end and half-hipped at the south. There is a hipped porch and three eyebrow dormers on the front wall plate. A central chimney is located one third from the north end. Near the north end of the front, there is a small door. The cottage features 2-light and 4-light wooden casement windows. The south gable has a brick plinth and two windows on each floor. The rear wall contains only small upright casement windows, which appear to have been inserted between the close studding.
