Description
The farmhouse at Broadfield Hall Farm is a building dating from the late 17th century, with an eastern wing added in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered and decorated with basketwork pargetting and plain window margins, all under a steep old red tile roof. The house is long, two stories high with attics, and faces east. It has a central chimney with a panelled square shaft. The layout is unusually elongated, with a hall located to the north of the chimney, a service room at the northern end, and a large kitchen to the south of the chimney. A stair and another service room separate the kitchen from a parlour at the southern end, which includes a fireplace dating from around 1700. The windows are two-light mullioned casement types. The building was formerly known as Hall Farm.
