Description
The barn and stables at Lodge Farm, located to the east of the house, date from the late 17th century, with the barn roof structure being from the 19th century. They are constructed of red brick in English bond, featuring wide joints and lime mortar, and are topped with old red tile roofs. The buildings form a three-sided courtyard of single-storey farm structures. The taller barn is situated on the east side and has doors on both sides, while the lower-pitched roof stable ranges extend to the west, facing into the yard. The stables have side-purlin roofs, and the barn features a king-post roof. Notably, the north wall of the north stable includes decorative oval windows. The site is near the location of the church of the deserted medieval village of Broadfield.
