Description

Roughdown Villas comprises four pairs of semi-detached houses dating from the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stucco with elsh slated roofs featuring bracketted eaves cornices. They have basements and attics, and are two storeys high. The design incorporates recessed wings with a window arrangement of 1:2:1. The windows are side casements and central sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor has pilasters and entablatures, while the first floor has architrave surrounds. Door surrounds are accentuated with cornices resting on consoles. Nos 5 and 6 have one gabled dormer each. Nos 1 to 8 form a cohesive group.
