Description

This building comprises a shop with a flat above, dating back to approximately 1600 with a front range added in the 18th century. The main structure is red brick with a wooden cornice, while the older rear wing is timber-framed and roughcast. The roofs are steeply pitched and tiled, with a hipped design on the front block and the northwest wing.

The building is L-shaped, with the 18th-century front block facing east and attached to the older rear wing, which has an outshut on its south side. A prominent square chimney sits at the junction of the front block and older wing. The front of number 36A has two first-floor windows, each with recessed sash windows containing six-over-six panes, positioned above a moulded brick band, and a small shop window with a door. Number 36 has a flush box sash window with six-over-six panes and a rubbed brick flat arch above a 19th-century shop front.
