Description

Nos 83 and 85, Marlowes, are an early 19th-century building. The construction is primarily yellow brick with a hipped roof covered in Welsh slate and an eaves cornice. The building has two storeys and a basement, with a stucco sill band marking the first floor.

The central block features two sash windows; the window on the left retains its original glazing bars, while the window on the right has been altered to a two-light design. On the ground floor, there’s a sash window on the left and a canted bay window on the right, featuring a wooden balustrade to its flat roof. The building is recessed.

The recessed wings each have an arched doorway topped with a traceried fanlight. Above each doorway is a circular window with radiating glazing bars. Nos 75 to 85 (the odd numbers) form a group.
