Description

Beechholm is a late 17th-century red brick house with an old tile roof, originally located on the east side of Cheshunt High Street. The building is two storeys high with a later boxed attic addition. It has a symmetrical facade with a 1:2:1:2 window arrangement, and the projecting sections on either side have hipped roofs. A continuous, deeply moulded eaves cornice, embellished with Tuscan egg-and-dart detail, runs around the building. A horizontal floor band is also visible.

The right-hand projection features a four-panelled door with a moulded architrave surround, a keyblock, a semicircular fanlight, and a dentilled pediment supported by leaf consoles. Replacement sash windows are present throughout, with the ground floor windows featuring gauged brick lintels and the upper floor windows set within segmental arches. A 19th-century gabled addition is located on the north side and includes a first-floor sack hoist door.
