Description

Hope House is a red brick house dating to 1681. The front facade was plastered in the 18th century and features a parapet and band. A rear extension to the north creates an L-shaped plan. The house has three sash windows, and a plastered square porch with early 19th-century details including a segmental-headed door arch, an architrave surround, a radiating leaded fanlight, and groove patterns to the sides. A ground-floor window has eight-over-eight panes. The south gable end is steep and includes a floor band and a semicircular-headed attic window below a square date plaque. The two-window rear extension has a slate roof and recessed six-over-six-pane sash windows.
