Description

Grange Cottages date from the 16th century and received significant alterations around 1840. The cottages have a timber frame construction now largely concealed by a roughcast exterior, embellished with Tudor Gothic details. The roof is tiled. The cottages are arranged as one storey and attics, with projecting gables at each end. Windows are arranged as a 1:2:1 pattern of casements, with Tudor grip moulds on the casements in the end bays. There are two gabled dormers. Pierced bargeboards in an ogee pattern are found on the main gables, porch, and dormers. The building features two tall brick chimneys constructed of yellow stock brick, each with three conjoined shafts set diagonally. A lean-to extension is attached to the west side.
