Description
The Old Beer House is a house that was formerly an ale-house, dating from the 18th century. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure with a thatched roof that is half-hipped at the east end and hipped to the west. The building has two storeys and includes a thatched lean-to of two low storeys at the northeast corner, which has a short jetty and a 17th-century reused moulded bressumer. A 20th-century porch is located on the south front elevation and has a hipped thatched roof. There is one small off-centre ridgeline stack and another stack against the east wall. The windows are a mix of 20th-century and 18th-century leaded light casements. The house is designed in an 'L' plan and has a two-storey 20th-century rear extension with a flat roof, partly featuring painted weatherboarding and partly painted brick.
