Description
The Labourers Rest is a house that was formerly a public house, dating from the 16th century and later. It is timber framed and plastered, with peg tile roofs. The building has two storeys and a 'T' plan shape. The front and the north wing feature gables, while the rear east end has a hipped roof. The windows are 20th-century small pane casements, and there are two small lean-to dormers on the west side of the north wing. An exposed asymmetrical red brick stack is located on the front gable, with a smaller stack on the main ridgeline. The two bays at the rear are from the 16th century, showcasing a long external wall brace and a diamond mullioned window. The front extensions are likely from the 18th century, and the north wing is a 20th-century addition.
