Description
The barn and stable located west of Roos Farmhouse date from the 18th century. They are timber-framed and feature plastered and weatherboarded sections, with a roof made of brick, clay tiles, and corrugated iron.
The eastern front elevation consists of two units, with the larger barn to the north. The barn is weatherboarded with brick walling below, featuring a high two-leaf wagon door and a simple boarded door at the southern end. The stable is similar to the barn but is lower, with a corrugated iron roof, a boarded door, and a two-leaf stable door. There is a central open way between the two, with louvred panels above the doors.
The western rear elevation mirrors the eastern front but has plastered walling above a narrow band of weatherboard. There is an upper boarded loading door in the barn. The northern end elevation has wall plates that extend with support brackets to carry a projecting rafter couple, although this is now missing.
Inside, the structure features primary braced timber framing. The barn consists of four bays, and the roof has been rebuilt. This building is included for its group value.
