Description
Porters Hall is a 17th-century barn located 40 meters north of the house. This large barn features three hipped midstreys on the south side and is constructed with a timber frame, partially weatherboarded and partially plastered. It has a half hipped roof covered with red plain tiles and likely consists of 11 bays. The walls are supported by through bracing, jowled storey posts, and straight braces to the tie beams. The top plate has halved and bladed scarfs, and the roof is a double side purlin design, with later struts extending from the tie beams to the lower purlins. The barn is situated on a moated site.
