Description
This is a terrace of houses built in the early 19th century. It is located on the west side of New Street in Great Dunmow. The buildings are timber-framed and have plastered walls, arranged over two storeys. They have gabled roofs covered with peg tiles. The roofline reduces to a lower level over numbers 30 and 40, with a half-hip at the north end. Each house features a simple door surround with a flat hood supported by brackets. They also have a three-light casement window with small panes on each floor, although some of these windows have been replaced with metal frames in the 20th century. A red brick stack is positioned behind the ridge line of each unit.
