Description
The barn west of Sibley's Farmhouse is a large, late 16th-century structure that features an aisled design, timber framing, and weatherboarding. It has a red plain tile half-hipped roof and consists of three unusually long bays. The barn showcases high-quality craftsmanship with jowled main posts, arch braces supporting the tie beams and arcade plates, and an arch-braced side purlin roof. At the north end, there is a two-bay extension that was added in 1683, as noted on the main post. This extension also includes jowled main posts and a lodged side purlin roof.
