Description

High House Farmhouse is a house, formerly a farmhouse, dating to the 15th century. It is timber-framed and plastered, with gabled pegtile roofs over two parallel ranges. The south range has a small ridge stack positioned off-centre, and a slate lean-to at the east end. The front features a 20th-century gabled pegtile-roofed enclosed porch, and aluminium casement windows from the 20th century. The rear range was constructed in the mid-19th century, with bargeboards, and double-hung sash windows, some with one vertical glazing bar and some with two.

Originally an in-line hall house, the interior retains jowled posts, heavy arched braces, soot blackening, and remnants of a crown-post roof. A section of a board and muntin partition survives, likely dating to the 16th century.
