Description

The Old Manse, now the National Westminster Bank, is a late 18th century red brick house located on Newport High Street. It features a plain parapet front and stands two storeys high with attics. The building has a three-window range of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, set in flush cased frames. The ground floor windows are tripartite, flanked by narrow sidelights. A central six-panel door, accessed by stone steps, is framed by a doorcase that has a dentilled cornice. The roof is tiled and has a mansard design, with three sloping roofed dormers on the front.
