Description

Distaff Cottage is a 17th century timber-framed and plastered house located on Belmont Hill in Newport. It features a gable at the south end and has a ground floor level that is below the level of the road. The timber-framing is exposed on the north gabled end. The building has two storeys and a two-window range, with small casements that have lattice leaded lights. The roof is tiled.
