Description

Nos 16 and 18 Bentfield Green is a 15th to 16th century timber-framed and plastered house of the Wealden type. It features jettied upper storeys at both the east and west ends. The eaves extend across the front, supported by a central beam and curved braces on the inner sides of the jettied upper storeys. The building has two storeys and a three-window range with leaded casements. No 18 includes a jettied upper window positioned between the outer curved brace and the central beam. The roof is tiled and has gambrels at both ends. Inside, the structure showcases heavy close spaced studding, beams, and joists.
