STANSTED MOUNTFITCHET BENTFIELD GREEN (north side) Nos 16 and 18 (formerly listed as Estate No 129 Estate No 130 under East Green)

2. C15-C16 timber-framed and plastered house of the Wealden type with jettied upper storeys at the east and west ends. The eaves is continued across the front supported by a central beam and curved braces on the inner sides of the jettied upper storeys. Two storeys. Three window range, leaded casements. No 18 has a jettied upper window between the outer curved brace and the centre beam. Roof tiled, with gambrels at the east and west ends. The interior has heavy close spaced studding, beams and joists. (RCHM 23).
