Description

This barn, located approximately 25 metres northeast of Gifford's Farmhouse, dates from the early 17th century. It features a 19th-century weatherboard exterior over a timber frame, set on a brick plinth, and has a gabled and half-hipped roof made of corrugated asbestos. The barn has a five-bay plan, with a rear aisle and a central threshing floor. The entrance includes 19th-century plank double doors and a loft door, both fitted with strap hinges. Inside, there are arch braces connecting jowled posts to the arcade plates and tie beams, as well as diagonal wall bracing. The roof structure is a collar-truss design, complete with queen struts and windbracing.
