Description
Tindon Manor is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house that has been significantly altered and expanded in the 19th century. An oak panel inside the house is dated 1684, which may indicate when the original structure was built. The east front features gables at both the north and south ends, with a 19th-century gabled block added to the north end. All gables are adorned with ornamental bargeboards. The windows are primarily double-hung sashes with glazing bars, along with some casements. The ground floor includes four bay windows, and the windows in the north block have Gothic arched top lights. The roof is tiled and features an internal chimney stack at the center of the front, which has three moulded shafts from the 19th century. Additionally, there are remnants of a moat surrounding the property. In the mid-19th century, the house was owned by Sir John McAdam, known for his work on Macadam roads.
