Description
This is a cartshed located 80 meters south-southwest of Brickhouse Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame made of elm, featuring weatherboarded and rendered cladding, and topped with a corrugated iron roof. The structure is open-fronted and consists of four bays, with a clasped purlin roof supported by straight bracing from the ties and wall plates to the principal posts. The first floor has been inserted into two of the bays, with a stud partition that is partially mortice and tenoned and partially bird-mouthed, tied to the rafters. The building is supported by concrete padstones, and access to the first floor is provided by an external ladder from the northeast gable.
