Description

Radio Supplies is a shop and office located on High Street in Saffron Walden, dating from the late 16th century. The building is timber-framed, with the ends rendered and the frame exposed on the first floor at the front. It features plain tile gabled roofs that connect to the roof of the adjacent No. 23 to the north. The structure has two storeys and includes a range at right angles at the rear.

The front elevation displays two octagonal gault brick shafts positioned behind the ridge line. On the first floor, there are two 20th-century hardwood leaded light casements. The shopfront, also from the 20th century, has a recessed entrance and a hardwood fascia. The two-bay timber frame at the front was formerly jettied and has jowled posts. At the rear, there is a two-bay timber frame with jowled posts, alongside an additional two bays of a truncated building that features an exceptionally cambered tie-beam. A large stack is located in the end bay of this structure, projecting through the roof as a substantial rectangular stack made of red brick.
