Description

This is a terrace of houses dating from the early 19th century, built on the site of earlier structures. The houses are timber-framed and plastered, arranged over two storeys, and have a peg tile roof. The roof is gabled at the south end and half-hipped at the north end, with a ridgeline that rises between numbers 30 and 32. Most of the houses have one double-hung sash window with small panes on each floor, along with a simple doorcase featuring a moulded architrave and hood. Number 30 has a double-fronted design with similar windows and a doorcase. The doors are contemporary, with four vertical panels. Large red brick party wall stacks are located between numbers 32/34 and 34/36, and there are three stacks behind the ridgeline. The interior of number 36 reveals remains of a probable 14th-century crosswing, featuring heavy tie beam bracing and a hidden money box in the upper surface of one tie beam.
