Description
Wedgwood Cottage is a house from the late 16th century. It is timber-framed and plastered, with a thatched roof. The building consists of three bays and features an axial chimney at the eastern end of the middle bay, which is made of clay lump and faced with 20th-century brickwork. There is also a 20th-century chimney that is back to back with it in the eastern bay. The cottage is a single storey with attics and has three 20th-century casement windows. The door, which has a glass pane, is located in a 20th-century porch, and the roof is half-hipped at both ends. A dormer is present in the central bay on the south side. The structure includes jowled wall posts, cambered tie beams (two of which have been severed for doorways), and curved tension bracing that is trenched to the inside of the studs.
