Description
Morral's Cottage is an 18th-century cottage that has been extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed and plastered, with a thatched roof. The cottage consists of two bays and features an original chimney stack at the western end. The building was extended to the west in the 19th century and again in the 20th century, with an additional 20th-century extension to the north. It is a single-storey structure with attics, containing four 20th-century casement windows and a 20th-century porch, as well as a 20th-century casement window in a plain dormer. The eastern end has a half-hipped roof. Inside, the timber framing is exposed in the two eastern bays, showcasing primary straight bracing. The floor is supported on clamps but is believed to be original. Historically, this building has functioned as two cottages and retains both staircases, which are now combined into one.
