Description

Pond Cross Farmhouse is a mid-19th century red brick house located on the east side of Newport High Street. A panel on the north side displays the initials "H.W." and the date 1852. The house is two storeys high with cellars. It has a symmetrical three-window front, featuring double-hung sash windows with glazing bars in plain reveals. The northern section of the house slightly projects forward, displaying an open pedimented verge. The ground floor has two canted bays and a central doorway with a rectangular fanlight, architrave, and cornice. The roof is covered with slate. The building is included on the list for its group value.
