Description

Nos. 2-8 York Street is a terrace of four cottages built in the mid-19th century. The cottages are constructed of red brick and feature a grey slate roof along with three red brick chimney stacks. The gables have moulded bargeboards with pendants, and there are eaves brackets present. The buildings are two storeys high and have a window arrangement of 2:1:2, consisting of small paned vertically sliding sash windows with moulded surrounds and gauged brick arches. Originally, there were five doors, but the door on the left has been converted into a window. Each door has two vertical top lights and is flanked by pilasters with capitals and bases, plain friezes, and flat canopies.
