Description

Rose Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick featuring flared headers and has a red plain tiled roof with chimney stacks on both the right and left sides. The building has a central band and stands two storeys high, with a three-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes that have horns, moulded surrounds, and segmental heads on the ground floor. The central entrance has a 20th-century door and is sheltered by a red tiled gabled porch supported on brackets. Inside, notable features include a side purlin roof, stop-chamfered bridging joists, and several original doors with ironmongery. There is also an 18th-century brick cellar located beneath a later rear extension.
