Description

This headstone, dated 1698, is located on the west side of the path approximately 35 metres southeast of the south door of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, St. Thomas and All Saints. It is made of stone and commemorates Jonas Allen. The headstone features straight sides and a curved, raised top with a central skull and crossbones. The inscription reads, "Here lieth the body of Jonas Allen 27 April 1698."
