Description
Blatches Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with red plain tiled roofs. The farmhouse features a 16th-century red brick external chimney stack on the left side of the jettied crosswing, another red brick stack to the left of the rear left range, and an original chimney stack, now plastered, at the rear of the right range. The building has two storeys and attics, with a complex plan that includes a jettied crosswing, ranges to the right and rear left, and a rear stair turret. The window arrangement consists of a 1:1:2 pattern of 20th-century small paned casements, with only one window on the ground and first floor of the right range. There is a 20th-century part glazed door to the right of the crosswing. The jetty is supported by end curved brackets and features a moulded bressumer.
