Description

Gore Farmhouse is a house with origins dating back to the 15th century, with rebuilding taking place in the 16th century and later alterations. It is timber framed and plastered, with red plain tiled roofs. A large red brick chimney stack is located on the rear range. The house is arranged in a T-shape, consisting of a two-storey front range and a one-storey, attic rear range. The front range has a jetty to the left return. The front facade has a two-window range of small-paned casement windows, with a C20 gabled porch. A plaster panel bears the date 1450, situated between the first-floor windows. Internally, the main frame features stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, jowled storey posts, and heavy arched braces to the side purlin roof. A late 16th century brick chimney stack is present on the rear wing.
