Description
Scotts Hall is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with alterations and additions from the 17th century and later. It features a timber frame that is pebble dashed, with a crosswing on the left side that has painted rusticated quoins and gable battens. There are plastered chimney stacks on the forward right and external left sides. The building is two storeys high and has a window arrangement of 2:3. The windows in the crosswing are small paned vertically sliding sashes, while the right range has 19th-century two or three-light casements with central transoms. A 19th-century part-glazed gabled porch is located on the right range, along with a door that has two round-headed lights. Inside, there is a rear 17th-century stair turret with an original window opening, now fitted with stick balusters on the staircase. The rear wall of the crosswing shows heavy close-set studs, likely from the early 16th century. There are opposing doorways next to the crosswing, and the side girts, storey posts, and top plates are visible.
